Yvonne’s professional background and qualifications are as a social worker with over thirty years experience in front line social work before setting up New Directions Consulting about 12 years ago.
Since then she has been involved in developing the adult, young people’s and children’s social work and social care workforce involving many high profile projects for sector skills councils, awarding organisations and local authorities. She provides consultancy services in commissioning, adult, young people’s and children’s social care, parent education and early years.
Yvonne writes popular, user-friendly text books for the all parts of the social care workforce and speaks at conferences and seminars across the country. She enjoys the challenge of international work with the United Nations where she is part of a group looking at the future of citizenship and social care.
